God is Present, , February 7, 2019 Black History Month Devotional

Today's Black History Month Devotional is "God is Present"
 By Grace Marshall

I look behind me and you’re there, then up ahead and you’re there, too— your reassuring presence, coming and going.
 Psalm 139:5 (The Message)

God is present in every situation in our lives.

As a Black parent of adult children, I am reminded of the number of times that I have to remain silent as I watch my children in difficult situations due to the prejudices of others. I want to swoop in and solve their problems.

It is during those times that I have learned to take the situation to my Heavenly Father.  God loves them and is always with them the way that He has always been faithful to me.

Recently, I prayed about a critical, negative person in my child’s life. I asked God to change that person’s heart or remove them because of the damage to my child’s spirit.  Within weeks, that person announced an upcoming move.  I still pray that God will change that person, but I am happy for the move.

I am thankful that God is always there.
